CONTRIVE: Two New Songs Posted Online
March 5, 2010Melbourne, Australia trio CONTRIVE has uploaded two brand new songs — "Is This The Way?" and "The Internal Dialogue" — on its MySpace page. The tracks comes off the band's second album, "The Internal Dialogue", which is tentatively due in April/May via an as-yet-undisclosed record label.
CONTRIVE will support Canadian musician/producer Devin Townsend (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, STEVE VAI, LAMB OF GOD, DARKEST HOUR, GWAR) on his tour of Australia beginning on March 12 in Birsbane.
Devin handled the mixing duties on "The Internal Dialogue" in August 2009, with drummer Andrew Haug sitting in on the process at Studio D in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Commented Devin Townsend: "I've known the Haug brothers for some time, and I have to say that this record is leagues ahead of their previous material, which was already great. They've got a cool message and a sense of dynamics on this album which I think will give people the cause to take notice. Organic and honest.
"I'm happy to have been involved with some really great music."
Andrew Haug has been hosting Triple J's weekly national metal program "The Racket" (formerly "Full Metal Racket") since 2001. He is a longtime metalhead who has conducted interviews with such greats as METALLICA, TOOL, PANTERA, SLAYER, OZZY OSBOURNE and more.
